Unwin works as a freelance dancer-choreographer in Berlin, and is a certified Ilan Lev Method practitioner and movement instructor. Raised in Connecticut, she trained at Eastern CT Ballet, then graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2014 with a degree in Dance and Environmental Science. She worked at Ruth Page Center for the Arts in Chicago as Production Manager, where she also received ballet training and concurrently began her contemporary and improvisation studies while working with CoCoDaCo Dance Project.

Previously in Los Angeles, Unwin has worked in both concert and commercial dance and was signed with Bloc Talent Agency in 2021-2023. She regularly performs and collaborates with The Assembly Dance and Fabe Dance since 2017 and has contributed to a multitude of one-time or recurring projects including; Academy Award winning experimental film, Simulacra; (antiquated) Augmented Reality with Christine Marie performed at Sundance and LACMA; and ‘Hive Rise’ by Lilleth & Ash Fure with the Industry Opera, at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA. She showed original work ‘Won’t Take Shape’ in LA as a part of Lavender Dance Festival and MashUp Dance's International Women's Day Festival, and the piece was a semi-finalist in the 92Y Future Dance Festival 2023. In May 2023, she premiered a new solo, ‘Trough to Trough’, produced by Akomi Dance at the Orange County Dance Festival Professional Division.

After a creative residency at The Actors Space in Barcelona, Unwin is developing a new improvisational performance work in collaboration with musician Tobias Link, which has had multiple iterations filmed or performed in unconventional settings with various multimedia collaborators, internationally. Unwin currently participates in freelance performance projects, while working on her own creative process via choreographic research and somatic bodywork practices.
